Getting started with Genesis Health

How do I become a patient at Genesis Health?

Becoming a patient is simple. You can book your initial consultation online or call us at (212) 644-9100. During your first visit, we'll conduct a comprehensive 60-90 minute consultation to understand your health history, current concerns, and goals.

After your initial consultation, our team will recommend a personalized care plan and discuss membership options that fit your needs.

Do I need a referral from another doctor?

No, you do not need a referral to become a patient at Genesis Health. You can schedule directly with us. However, we encourage you to bring any relevant medical records, recent lab results, or documentation from other providers to help us understand your complete health picture.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring the following to your initial consultation:

  • Photo identification
  • Completed intake forms (sent via email before your visit)
  • List of current medications and supplements
  • Recent lab results or medical records (if available)
  • List of questions or concerns you'd like to discuss

Don't worry if you don't have all your records—we can request them from other providers with your authorization.

How long is the initial consultation?

Your initial consultation is 60-90 minutes. This extended time allows us to thoroughly understand your health history, lifestyle factors, symptoms, and goals. We believe in unhurried appointments where you have time to share your full story and ask questions.

The Genesis Difference: Unlike typical 15-minute appointments, we take the time to truly listen and understand the root causes affecting your health.

Can I schedule a discovery call before booking?

Yes! If you'd like to learn more about our approach before committing to an appointment, we offer complimentary discovery calls. During this brief call, you can ask questions about our services, discuss whether Genesis Health is the right fit for your needs, and learn about membership options.

Call us at (212) 644-9100 or contact us online to schedule a discovery call.

Is there a waitlist for new patients?

Wait times vary depending on provider availability and your scheduling preferences. We typically can accommodate new patient appointments within 1-2 weeks. Sunday appointments tend to book further in advance due to high demand from busy professionals.

For the most current availability, please check our online booking system or call our office.

Do I have to commit to a membership right away?

No, you're not required to commit to membership immediately. You can complete your initial consultation and any recommended testing before deciding on a membership tier. Many patients choose to experience our care firsthand before selecting the membership level that best fits their needs.

Our team will explain all membership options and help you choose the right fit after your consultation.

Our Services

Learn about our functional medicine and wellness offerings

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is a personalized, science-based approach that explores the interconnected systems influencing your wellbeing—including genetics, environment, and lifestyle. Rather than just treating symptoms, we investigate the underlying factors affecting your health.

Our approach considers the whole person: we evaluate how your body systems work together and identify root causes rather than prescribing one-size-fits-all solutions.

What services does Genesis Health offer?

Our comprehensive services include:

  • Root Cause & Lab Testing: Advanced diagnostics beyond standard panels
  • Hormone Optimization: Personalized protocols for men and women
  • Gut Health: Microbiome analysis and optimization
  • Environmental Medicine: Heavy metal and toxin evaluation
  • Weight Management: Sustainable, metabolically-informed approaches
  • IV Wellness Therapy: Nutrient infusions for optimal absorption
  • Peptide Protocols: Medically supervised wellness support
  • Hair Restoration: PRP and laser therapy with AI tracking
  • Feminine Wellness: Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation

Schedule a consultation to discuss which services may be right for you.

Do you offer Botox or injectables?

No, Genesis Health does not offer Botox. Our aesthetics philosophy focuses on regenerative approaches that support natural-looking enhancement and long-term vitality rather than neurotoxin-based treatments.

Our aesthetics services include hair restoration (PRP, low-level laser) and feminine wellness (non-surgical options). We believe in subtle refinement that helps you look refreshed, not "done."

What is the AI hair tracking system?

Our exclusive AI-powered hair restoration tracking system uses advanced imaging technology to precisely measure your progress at every session. Unlike subjective before-and-after photos, our AI analyzes:

  • Hair density (follicles per square centimeter)
  • Coverage area percentage
  • Hair shaft thickness

These metrics are compared to your baseline and displayed in your patient portal, so you can see objective data on your improvement rather than relying on visual impressions alone.

What types of lab testing do you offer?

We offer comprehensive diagnostic testing that goes beyond standard panels, including:

  • Complete metabolic and hormone panels
  • Nutrient status and deficiency testing
  • Inflammatory and autoimmune markers
  • Gut microbiome analysis
  • Food sensitivity testing
  • Heavy metal and environmental toxin panels
  • Genetic testing and analysis
  • Advanced cardiovascular markers

Your provider will recommend specific testing based on your symptoms, health history, and goals.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes, we offer virtual consultations for certain appointments, particularly follow-up visits and results reviews. However, initial new patient consultations and services requiring physical examination or procedures must be conducted in person at our Madison Avenue office.

Virtual appointments are conducted through our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Insurance & Payment

Billing, insurance, and payment options

Do you accept insurance?

We work with a limited number of insurance plans that offer out-of-network benefits, including BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Oxford.

Here's how it works:

  • Your out-of-network deductible must be met before your insurance pays toward services
  • We file claims directly to your insurance for your convenience—no superbills or paperwork for you to manage
  • If your insurance reimburses less than our fees, you are responsible for the difference

We recommend calling your insurance to verify your out-of-network benefits before scheduling.

How does direct claims filing work?

We file claims directly to your insurance company on your behalf—you don't have to deal with paperwork or submit anything yourself.

Here's the process:

  • We verify your out-of-network benefits before your first visit
  • After your appointment, we submit the claim to your insurance
  • Your insurance processes the claim and sends reimbursement directly to us
  • If there's a balance after insurance pays, we'll let you know

This approach lets you focus on your health while we handle the administrative details.

Do you provide superbills?

No, we do not provide superbills. Instead, we file claims directly to your insurance company for your convenience.

This means you don't have to:

  • Fill out claim forms
  • Submit paperwork to your insurance
  • Track reimbursements yourself
  • Wait for checks in the mail

Our team handles all the insurance paperwork so you can focus on your health journey.

Do you accept HSA/FSA payments?

Yes! Most of our services qualify for Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payment. This includes consultations, lab testing, IV therapy, and many other services.

Simply use your HSA/FSA card at checkout, or pay with another method and submit for reimbursement from your account.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods:

  • All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • HSA/FSA cards
  • ACH bank transfer
  • Financing options available

Membership fees are billed monthly via auto-pay for your convenience.

How much does membership cost?

We offer three membership tiers designed around different needs:

  • Essential ($297/month): 2 annual visits, 15% supplement discount, 1 IV session/year
  • Signature ($597/month): 4 annual visits, 20% supplement discount, 4 IV sessions, 3 hair restoration sessions
  • Elite ($1,197/month): 4 visits with Dr. Johnson, 30% discount, 12 IV sessions, 6 hair restoration sessions, direct physician access
